Together, we work to reduce carbon emissions, protect cultural heritage buildings, and safeguard the essential infrastructure needed for a green transition, all while aligning with global sustainability goals such as UNSDG 11.4.

As we move forward, we are focused on making our fire safety systems more sustainable by embracing responsible sourcing, reducing carbon footprints, and adopting circular economy practices. We also encourage and incentivize all stakeholders within our organization to contribute to a net positive environmental impact. Our objectives are clear: to lead the fire safety and security industry toward a more sustainable future, ensuring that every action we take contributes to a safer, greener world.

Green Quality Accreditation.

Ecovadis is a platform that evaluates and rates the environmental performance of companies across various industries. It provides businesses with a sustainability assessment framework to measure their environmental impact and sustainability practices. EcoVadis assesses companies based on several criteria, including their policies, actions, and results concerning environmental issues like carbon emissions, energy consumption waste management and sustainable sourcing.

Defensor also look to educate and impress on others to take positive steps to reduce our carbon footprint. We advise our clients to employ monitoring services to allow our help desk to “dial in” to systems to interrogate and establish any issue. This ensures, “single visit solutions” having the correct equipment on board to solve the problem, thus reducing our carbon footprint. Where possible we only use suppliers who operate like minded green policies, and where possible offer manufacturing, fuelled by 100% renewable energy, and with a ‘zero to landfill’ policy.

Looking to the future.

We are looking at employing fully electric vehicles and will initiate the process as soon as the charging infrastructure in the UK allows and we are monitoring closely. Whilst we have our own environmental policies, we are working toward attaining ISO 14001. On education we are compiling CPD seminars on sustainability within life safety. Sustainability is not an abstract ideal; it’s a practical and achievable goal. It’s a commitment to nurturing our planet, fostering equity, and ensuring prosperity for generations to come. Embracing sustainability isn’t just a choice; it’s a responsibility we owe to ourselves, our children, and the world we inhabit.
